Question

I understand that on a MY93 WRX the sensor in the downpipe, near to the joint with the centre section is a CAT temperature sensor. Is this correct or is it the Lambda sensor? If it is the CAT temp. sensor does it have to be attached, ie. what happened if it broke on removing from factory dp? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up

The sensor in the downpipe on your car is a cat temp. sensor, the lambda sensor is in your exhaust manifold.
You don't need to keep the temp. sensor, I've got a scoobysport downpipe on my 95 WRX, and the sensor is just held outof the way with cable ties.
Hope this helps!

If anyone fits their own dp and has trouble removing the temp sensor like I did, it can safely be removed as it only lights a warning light ie doesn't change the ecu. Thanks to Pete Croney for the help.
