ecu advice please
im buying an ecu for my 95 uk spec scooby. im using a chiped 7d ecu, now the one im buying is a 6k, does anyone now what sort of spec this is. psi/uk,import/ revs/ fuel ect. bottom line is this ecu a uk or import.

You say the current 7D ECU is chipped? What chip does this ECU have fitted?
The 6K ECU will not perform any different from your current ECU if you fit the chip
When J1 (link) is cut on the main board in the ECU this makes the 'additional' Eprom (chip/s) be read rather than the integral map

6K is an STi 2 ECU. Are you sure you had the chip holder/chip soldered in correctly? Sounds like the ecu is not seeing the chip from your second post?

there's a group buy for a chip that fits a classic that up's the fuel cut and lets you run 16.5 psi boost
and is set up to run 98octane fuel

Your not making much sense!
It will not matter what ecu you use becuase once the chip is installed and enabled properly the speed limiter be be remove anyway. In fact UK cars dont run an electronic speedo - they use a cable (i think).
Yes a 6K ecu is an import ecu and will work in that car with or without the chip.
However i would not recomend using it without the chip as the map on the main board is designed for an STI set up with a stronger engine and high octain fuel. Use it with your chip and it will set the car up for what ever fuel the chip is set up for.

ive desided to ditch the 6k, but im now looking at a v6 fitted to a prodrive. ive also been talking to a tuner about chips, if i can get a sutable ecu for my car & have it chiped with a good quality chip. the car should run and feel great. just need to find a good uk ecu for my car...
so anyone now about the v6.
