Default Is the MAF housing on a MY01-05 the same as a MY99

Is the MAF housing the same on a MY01-05 WRX as the MY99-00 Turbo.

I want to use a MY01-05 housing on my MY99 UK Turbo but want to know if my MAF sensor will still connect up to it.

Different, so no. It may work, with a remap, but the green dot classic MAF's are much better than the early non-green dots.....so why bother?

The replacement MAF's for the MY99/00 cars have 'green dots' on them now.

I'm not changing the MAF i want to use the original MY99 MAF, i'm looking at getting an aftermarket cold air induction kit but the kit is for a MY01-05 but i am going to customise it to fit the classic.

Just want to know if my MY99 MAF will fit the housing.

Be careful - changes to the induction set-up *could* lead to the MAF reading incorrectly. Not a problem if you're getting a remap too, but be careful if not.

Will be getting a remap. Just collecting all the parts at the moment.

No, its (the new age housing) too small in diameter and air velocity will be too high, the new age maf won't work with the ecu either, I have been experimenting, got the car to idle and drive off boost but the air velocity is too low through a 80mm MY99 maf body and the smaller new age body restricts things too much. Project is held up as I have the Motec in the car and thats much more fun.
