Took the top off my Scoob Maf, desoldered the plug/connector.
Did the same on the Nissan Unit & soldered the Scoob plug/connector back on the Nissan unit exactly the same way ..
Oh yes & of course i siliconed the cap back on in Authentic Black colour
Works a treat & you can still use your Scoob wiring

That is the best way to do it IMHO and how I did mine. The change on the PFC is usually pretty straightforward I found, change the maf to VG30 and you should be pretty close (it should run at least).
When desoldering a solder sucker helps on the wire leads that solder to the connector. You don't need to remove all the silicone to remove the lid, just remove the bulk of it and cut through the rest, as it clips in as much as anything else.

Is this also a useful mod for MY99/00 cars? If I get an FMIC I'll have to get an induction kit so would swapping the Subaru MAF to the Nisssan item give me more protection for MAF failure?
I've got TEK mapping if that makes a difference
