Question Engine Stand

Has anyone used an engine stand on a boxer engine at all and if so do they have any pictures.

I gont mine for my lump while the cars in the bodyshop but it just doesnt look as though it will work

Chris, most of us use the one from machine mart.

Use 4 gearbox mounting bolts to mount the stand to the engine and its done

Personally pay a little bit extra than the one Steven is using above and get the one with 2 legs on either side and not just one in the centre. More stable.

I have had my 911 flat 6 on my 'one leg'stand and the Scooby lump; it is strong enough but a twin leg would be better when you start to fight difficult bolts etc.

I just bought an engine stand like this with 2 legs, but I actually haven't dared to use it yet. Can the 4 gearbox mounts really support the weight of the engine? To me, it looks scary

Yes. no probs
Try hanging a 911 off the 4 bolts for a challenge to sensibility.
The stand will actually bend a lot when you first remove the engine hoist.
