Default Apexi power ECU or decat downpipe?

How do!

Which would be the best choice to increase performance on a 95 WRX? I have a full Blitz exhaust & thought a decat downpipe would be next on the list. Now I've read that a full decat exhaust would require a remap but my ECU isn't remappable. What sort of power could the Apexi ECU give before a full decat?

Not too sure, but, if you went for the Apexi ECU, you would then be able to fit your de-cat downpipe at a later date and have the capability to re-map it then.

At the risk of sounding stupid, do both.
Fit the d/p and get AndyF to fit/map the ecu

The difference will be very posative!

Thats what I'd say, but money wise, if it was one or the other, i'd go with the apexi first, then the de-cat.

Agree, especially if you are not fitting the d/p yourself (cost)

d/p bought and fitted = about 350
ECU = 750

Hmm, just to be different, I'd do it the other way

Not essential to have a re-map with a de-cat (though its desirable). If you get the de-cat first, then you're only going to need one mapping session once you get the Apexi. Time and money saved

You could also get the Apexi second hand and save some money there.

Thanks guys.
The Apexi ECU is for sale on ebay for £423 at the minute. I dont think I would find it any cheaper anywhere else.
Unless I can stumble accross a second hand one like you say.

You can get them second hand occasionally. I got one from here with commander (thanks Tony) for £450

Do a search on here for something called a scoobyECU.

It is a chip for the Pre 96 WRXs that ups the boost, fueling etc.

I had one on my 95 WRX, its works best with a decat and panel filter/Induction Kit
