Unhappy Please please help - I'm in trouble...

Today, I had bad news - my lovely, well looked-after '98 Impreza WRX has something terminal deep within its soul. A con-rod/piston has decided to start letting go on my car and it now sounds like an old Fiesta.

I've been told that the cheapest thing I can do is find another motor. I've found a 2001 STi motor but 'm not sure it will all go together as it should.

Does anyone really know whether it would be a nightmare or not??

I'm desperate for any good info as I'm still paying for the car and it's what I use to get to work.

Yours, much distressed,

Richard

2001 sti short engine will work if you heads are okay.. but the complete engine would take a little work.. ie. mod to take variable valve timing off.. mod to make your manifold fit the new engine.. too much work.

try www.hdcsubaru.com for a replacement.

Thumbs up Thanks a lot...

Cheers for the replies guys - I phoned around and also figured it would be a little too much work (seeing as I was after selling the car!)
