Just got my grubby mitts on a new new set of Defi's and a gauge pod today(cheers Knowlesy
)
When replacing the oil pressure sensor with the defi one, do you have to splice the wiring of the original into the new sensor loom or just have it disconnected? Will this throw up a CEL
Also how do you get the gauges to stay in the pod, my old set had brackets to keep them in place. Reading the instructions it appears that they are just held in by a piece of foam wrapped around the gauge, is this right?
Cheers Rich

Leave the wire from the std sensor disconnected, no you won't get a CEL.
The std sensor warning level is so low you'd have done damage before the light came on on the dash anyway
Much better to have a gauge with a sensible warning level
Top TIP!!! Wrap masking tape round the gauge behind the bezel so when you push it in to the pod it's a tight fit.
If you use too much it's easily adjusted .... just rip a bit off
It needs to be Masking tape as it doesn't wrinkle up when pushed into the pod, like insulating tape does.

Bought a Forester pocket a couple of weeks back from another SN member in preparation for future mods nothing planned and what happens, within a week I ended up with a set of Defi's and the top of the range Kenwood headunit with Ipod adaptor.
