What do you need to run 8500+rpm
I've modified the heads (99/00) with Ferrera valve's, springs and underbuckets (no lose shims).
i am running a 12 mm pump on my 2.0 Closed Deck with oilsquirters and an Spec C oilcooler.
Using Motul 300V 15W50
Would this be enough to make safe 8500-8700rpm.
oiltemp. won't come above 110Deg. C
I could imagine that at higher rev's we just have not enough oil in our engine.
The 12mm oilpump makes 60 liter/min and would suck the carter empty 14-15 times a minute?

Its the pistons that are your problem, can they take the RPM? heavier pistons will take longer to move etc, normal cast ones wont be up to the job, you need either hyper rheuetic (sp) pistons or forged.

i'm running forged wiseco pistons and eaglerods with STI bearings.
I believe the pistons are 100 gram lighter and are up to the job i think

what cams are you running? Your current spec seems to be okay for an rpm limit of 8500rpm, but you will probably find there is no point in running the engine that high due to the cams if they are standard UK spec.

add a corner / bit of braking , and you will lose you oil presure, the oil will just not fall to the bottom of the sump quick enough, the pump then cavitates, n.o 3 then falls out the side,
I saw on an oz site about someone doing a dry sump kit for them, that would sort it, I use an ARC alloy sump, I also modified the pickup height from 15 mm to 5mm, and a RCMS pump ,It hold`s approx 6.5 l, the alloy also give`s a little oil cooling,
why would you want to use 8500- 8750 ?

We want to the high rev's because we use the car also for dragracing and have a prety laggy turbo and an JDM 6speed. With 8700 rpm we can run 118mph in 4th and if we use other cams in the near future we have an very good powerband from 4500-until 8000 rpm.
At the moment we're doing ¼mile @ 12.2 but want to get into the high 11's.
There is no use in going to 8500rpm except for changing gear. that's why i'm also looking for some good cams for daily use and 8000 rpm if that's available
