Symptoms of failing FPR?
If my FSE FPR was failing, what synptoms should I be noticing on my car(94wrx)? Rough/low idle? Holding back/lumpy feeling when driving?

Personally it doesn't sound like a failing FSE me.... but i've never had one fail, only a fuel pump (got great mpg for a while till it gave up completely ).
A gauge on the FSE will only tell you what the idle pressure is... unless you can get somebody to sit under the bonnet while you drive it . So i wouldn't go out of my way to get one.
Easy way to tell is to get a wideband on it (Simon or Steve) to check the fueling. Or you could try the standard fuel reg. Just fit it where the FSE is rather than back on the rail (may need to mess about a bit with the pipes to get it on). Also you don't know if the FSE was set to standard pressure so the OEM one could be out from how it was mapped.
