Question ECU fault codes

Have followed the instructions on here http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co....r_Subaru_Codes
but can I find the black memory conectors mentioned ...no I cant, found the green ones.

Are these instructions for new age cars too? I have an MY01 Bugeye.

HELP!!!
It seems you can only re-set the ECU with these plugs.

My CEL light has been on due to the lambda sensor, but I'm sure I have now sorted this, but the light is still on, any one help please?

Thanks Paul

Hi Paul,
Probably really barking up the wrong tree here, but I don't suppose disconnecting the battery long enough would sort this?Just wondered because my battery went flat and when I changed it I had to adjust a couple of things to get it back to normal.
Regards
Dean

Hi Dean, thanks for answering.
Have tried that, heard somewhere that disconnecting the battery and pressing the brake pedal, to drain any electricity? does the trick, but didn't work for me.
Maybe should disconnect it for longer?

I think I'm right in saying it has to be off long enough for the back up capacitor to drain. If not I believe a select monitor from a dealer will do the trick!
My battery had gone flat over a period of four days which seemed to do the trick.I only get to drive it to B&Q once a week

Paul,
Andy (explore) had subaru assist out the other day, and the guy told him to disconnect the battery, and touch the two connectors together to reset the ecu... sounds odd to me, but i guess if the battery ain't connected it can/shouldn't do any harm..... worth a try...

Oh? Will give that a try then Ron.
Was wondering of those instructions was for my car as I couldn't find all the connectors worth a try though, thanks

ECU reset can't be done on newage cars with the proper equipment eg select monitor, SECS etc

just disconnect the ECU for a few hours and it will lose all power and reset.
