Default TEK 3 and Decat Down pipe- what next?

Any comments would be gratefully received for what to do next, as I dont want to waste my money on mods that wont see the best results.

My car is a MY99 with tek 3 remap, decat down pipe, sports cat centre pipe, green panel filter and other then big brakes is pretty much standard.

I was thinking slightly bigger turbo, and intercooler with further remap (assuming standard ecu can cope with these further mods?)

In terms of the turbo i have no idea what to go for any ideas of what works well without much more lag?

Intercooler wise is it worth going for Front mount, or just bigger top mount. If I go down the top mount route which one?

I dont want massive power perhaps 280-300BHP if poss?

Intercooler upgrade with bigger injectors will push it over 300bhp on the standard turbo.

That should be acheiveable without touching the turbo, but if you did want to to go down that route then Andy F sells a modified version of the TD04 turbo you have on the car now, which provides extra power, but retains the speedy spool up characteristics.

I looked on AndyF website, and that states standard My99/00 intercooler good for 330bhp and the MY99 440cc injectors are good for 350bhp. The website does not state anything about standard turbo power limits though, but it does say upto 320BHP for his hybrid TD04 turbo. I am more confused now! It appears that all the componants are rated above my 280 to 300 BHP goal but my car only makes circa 260BHP(not tested mappers guesstimate) What is the missing link? Or is it the case that with standard turbo, injectors(440cc) and intercooler its not possible to make 300BHP with Tek 3 map, but it might be possible if I just changed the turbo and kept standard injectors and intercooler, or for example just changed the standard intercooler and kept the TD04 turbo?

This is how i think about my MY03 WRX too. Mine only gives out 268 bhp, and i have had it RR twice now. Both TSL and Scoobyclinic are telling me it is 'maxed' out for my internals. I would like to know what i need also to get the 300 mark.

a P1 with tek 3 and decat will produce 300/310 bhp with no other mods
as you have the same intercooler as the P1 then it sugests that the turbo and possibly the injectors need changing. I think the P1 uses 550 injectors but not 100% sure. the P1 turbo is a vf28 by the way.

get rid of the other cat too. That'll release loads, from what I hear anyway. Adjustable boost valve will release another few ponies, what about back box, prodrive sounds good and looks dead subtle. Thats what I have so far withour remap and am fairly happy. Never rolling roaded though. Next is hybrid Andy F TD04 and remap when funds allow
