Unhappy engine overheat

hi folks, i have a 96 uk 2000 turbo, the problem is water is coming out the over flow tank, only when the car is on boost, seems to drive fine when not boosting, but over heats when under boost, radiators been chenged, thermostat is fine and water pump also fine, any help appreciated am at my wits end.

Does it happen immediately on boost or do you have to drive it hard for a long time first? Does the header tank completely empty and do you have water all down the passenger side of the car?

Yeah as soon as it hits full boost the car misses slightly then water all down passenger side, header tank does not completely empty but there is no heating in the car..

It sounds like there is a leak between the combustion chamber and the coolant passages. It might be a headgasket or cracked head.

Does it blow bubbles from the filler tube behind the light on the near side
once it gets warm/hot

If so it's deffo the head gasket mate !

Mine does that Rob, so does another Scooby on a 2.0 when you get it really hot.

Is there water condensation mixed with the oil? Should have a nice and lubricated around the thread were the oilcap is

It's Stu that has the problem bud not me.

I had the same issues and David at API diagnosed and made the repair.

John - Should have made it a bit clearer, it blows the coolant out via
the filler tube.

Check the project Graham for recent pictures, nearly ready. Been mainly painting cam cover and inlet mainfolds today!

try changing the rad cap first. that gives the symptoms you describe.
