Oil overfilled

Oil overfilled
I have a 2000 impreza turbo which was serviced by a specialist (apparently!!!!). I got home from work about 2 hours ago so the engine is not cold - The oil is past the hole which says F past the notch and about at the first kink. From what i have read this is pretty bad.
Any one shed any light on it?
Cheers

Check it when it's cold m8, it's much more reliable.
If it's way past the full hole when cold, then it's easy to just quickly remove the drain plug and take some out-don't drop the drain plug
Make sure the car is flat as well, it makes a difference.

You seemed to have answered your own question; unless of course you have mis read the oil levels. Usually its worth dipping a couple of times just to make sure.
Contact the garage they can check & if need be take relevant overfilled oil out. Just ensure you drive the car sensibly until oil is checked.

Not unusual mate, my mates MY01 was serviced recently by the main dealer and guess what, 1 litre too much oil in it, the young apprentice had done it (so they said) he suffered for days with poor boost and i had to clean his boost solenoid 3 times before it was back on song.

Cheers for that - Will get a local garage to drain a bit ASAP - Is it reasonably easy to do and them be able to tell the level even if it is warm? Just wondering how they would get it so wrong in the first place!!!!!
Also where is the boost solanoid valve? Is it on the left on a metal plate? If so which thing is it? There are a couple of things with tubes running from the turbo area.

But before you do, make sure the car is sat level fore and aft and side to side, ease the dip stick up and out of the sump, clean it and set aside, then wait until the surplus oil drains back out of the dip tube to the sump (say 30 mins) then dip and check again and see what the difference is (if any).
Its easy to get fooled as oil can wick up the dip tube on some cars, you might be taking oil out that you need.
