i'm just trying to find a site that tells you, what year is yours??,on the earlier models you can connect two blocks together(i think) under the steering column and it gives a certain amount of flashes like morse code i think, which you need to decode,or on the later models you just connect a select monitor and it gives you the fault codes.

i'd stop driving the car until you get it sorted!!,knock sensor is telling you that you are getting detonation, the fuel is igniting in your cylinders before the spark and this is what blows the engines due to stress on the engine,it could also be a faulty knock sensor but i think that is unusual,is yours an import??if so it may be worth getting some octane booster to put in for when you drive it to a garage, are you running it on optimax??

i'd get in touch with scoobyclinic and see what they say,it may just be a wire that was disturbed and is affecting the knock sensor,so its just a false alarm, but if it is detting then i wouldn't drive it.i'm no expert i just remember what i read, maybe someone else on here might know more,as det on a uk standard car is rare,is your car running higher boost or has it been mapped??as these are the things that can cause det if not dome properly

try getting hold of a knock sensor of another car and try it on yours,if it cures it then its a faulty sensor,if not then it could be faulty wire or you must be getting det.

just read this again....

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...t=knock+sensor

if it was your knock sensor it should go into limp mode,if yours isn't then it looks like you are getting det.
