What year car is it?

general rule though, find the air box and then follow the air pipe in the direction of the turbo. on a my99, the MAF is just after the air box, it's the first thing you come to from the airbox that has wires attached to it!

it's on the side of the pipe, right next to the Sigma Alarm siren. Haven't got a picture, but hopefully my vague desription will help!

You need a security Torx bit to get the bugger out.

if your car is later or earlier than a my99-00 then i'm not sure how this applies as i don't know them engines

James.

just a thought, disconnect the boost guage again and see what it does, you might have a leak in your hose to the boost guage somewhere

glad it seems better lee,

the MAF will be the first sensor after your induction kit FYI.
That should be the stage 1 engine you have, apparently you can clean that MAF, if you do a search, it's a well spoken about topic. It's the my99-00 that have the weak MAF

Hi Lee, I'm not fully sure, as on mine it's a case of replace the thing as it can't be cleaned, but on the older one they can.

on mine, there is an exposed metal strip that heats up and the MAF measures the current needed to keep it at a certain temperature as the amount of air tries to cool it down, really not sure about the old one though

so basicly james its a bi-metal srip in laymens terms a switch (thermostat)that when air passes over it to cool it down,so what you are saying is my98 is or could be cleaned opposed to a later model maf that has to be replaced .

regards lee.
