lightweight/dry/sealed batteries
Mine has been sat connected since September last year and is now fubar'd.
(drop tested it and it was showing 8 volts )
Any one use the sealed type, the ones they use in race/rally cars or could recommend a type of battery to go for if I was to relocate it to the boot?
all options considered.

Motorsport batteries usually are there just to start the car and the rest comes off the alternator ( racing anyway ) but there are gel filled light batteries with high power outputs, but no idea if they survive standing for 3 - 6 months. Likely they undergo an irreversible chemical reactions and go fubar!
Check out leaky tweeks catalogue, they do some.

If you are going to leave a battery standing for months then whatever it is I'd suggest connecting it up to a trickle charger. You can get them from motorcycle shops as they are essential for summer only bikers. There's also one advertised that's supposed to recover old batteries http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/herme...temId=10000253, but I've no idea how well it works.
