If you have a code 45 it could either the Map Sensor or the Pressure Exchange Solenoid

The map sensor is to the left of the pressure exchange solenoid and the boost control solenoid is directly below the pressure exchange solenoid

no but if you clean out the boost control solenoid with some brake cleaner that may help.

the BCS is the one under the pressure exchange solenoid in the pic, yours should have pipes on it but the one in the pic doesn't.

Wink

If it is overboosting due to the pressure exhange solenoid or the map sensor it would most likely be caused by split/damaged pipe from the manifold to them preventing the ECU seeing the pressure at the manifold.
Its more likely to be what Jonny has said as the code 45 will be given if the boost solenoid fails to control the pressure reaching the turbo actuator causing overboost.
If you connect the green plugs together and switch on the ignition the test mode sequence will be initiated which pulses the boost solenoid - while the solenoid is pulsing spray (as above) brake cleaner into the solenoid ports. Once complete reset the ECU as per Saxonfields site then test the car again

Cheers

If its boosting to 15psig it has either been 'tweaked' or there is still a problem as the standard boost for a UK96 is 11.47psig

does the boost solenoid have a pipe on the bottom of it?

the reason i ask is there is a restrictor in that pipe to help with boost control, if its missing it will cause the problem you are seeing.

that pipe should go to the bottom of the resinator box, the big black thing in the middle of the inlet pipe.

its most likely that the plastic nipple it atatches to has snapped off.

it would be a good idea to block the hole in the resinator box with something like a self tapping screw to stop it sucking in air after the maf sensor (not good).
