Is there a leak somewhere near the dump valve?. I'm not sure but it could be somewhere around there

Try taking the dawes off and cleaning it out and check the small bleed hole on the dawes elbow is not blocked mine did funny things once and it was small bits of dirt in the dawes .

right then ??

ok it look's like its the turbo actuator that's gone.

removed dawe's device and replaced standard boost solenoid.

still 10psi on road test.

took the actuator off and had a look at it, then replaced it and took the car out again.
still only 10 psi boost.

disconected the pipe to the actuator and 25psi which is great for me but not for the car

so it looks like the actuator is not closing fully and letting boost escape.

took the heat sheild off again and adjusted the actuator rod to fully in as far as it would go and still only 10 psi boost?

Mr.D said to try and connect the turbo housing direct to the actuator with a single pipe with the boost solenoid disconnected but still on the road 10 psi

also reset the ECU but no joy.

so need another actuator for a TD04 if ya have one hiden in ya garage any where let me know.

If you get 10 psi with a direct connection and 25 disconnected then the Dawes should be able to control the boost ok as it is effectively disconnecting the wastegate supply until target boost is achieved, then supplying just enough to maintain boost.
If you can get a low pressure airline you can check your actuator on the car, it should start to open smoothly around 8-10 psi and be full open by 12psi.
It is not uncommon for Dawes valves to need cleaned out a few times, especially if pipework has been disturbed. Try blowing through it, when blowing in the bottom (straight conn) there should be zero flow if it is seating correctly.
