manually adjusting when the turbo kicks in?
Can the turbo be manually adjusted so it kicks in at different rpms.
For example driving around town it does not kick in until 5rpm or when racing it kicks in at 2500rpm
Just asking if it can be done. Dont want it done myself

Makes wet weather and round town driving a little easier.

Ok, the wastegate opens at 0.5bar so this setting is easy. I use a 12v control valve to allow a direct connection between the turbo outlet nipple and the wastegate. This gives you your low boost setting.
By pressing a button on the dash I can switch the valve to closed mode which then redirects the pressure from the same outlet point on the turbo, through an MBC (dawes device boost controller) then to the wastegate. This gives you the high boost setting.
So in effect you have 2 valves or controllers fiited in parallel across the turbo/wastgate and you simply choose which one to use via switch.
Any help?

Cant see why not. After all, you are only switching the boost pressure away from the ECU and onto the wastegate directly. You should still get the correct ignition advance and AF ratio that is applicable to that particular boost pressure as the ECU will sense the boost your running at and adjust itself accordingly.

I think Andy F can put different maps in the Apexi for different sorts of driving. Think it's better if you have the Apexi boost controller though

When I used to have a Punto GT a few guys on the forum were using a switchable bleed valve that operated similar to above at the flick of a switch (low boost and high boost settings - think it used a solenoid to switch) they were getting them from Australia. Dont know if it will work with an Impreza but might be worth a look?
