2001 bugeye - in the boot if you look under the shelf near the light there's a connector - anyone know what this is for?

I'm pretty sure that on the cars that are not fitted with a spoiler, they have a brake light in the parcel shelf, this plug is the one that the light plugs into, at least it is on my my00! take a look at the plug that on the end of the spoiler brake light, I'll bet they're the same!!
