Would a faulty MAF show up on a WB ?

Would a faulty MAF show up on a WB ?
I'm thinking it wouldn't because the engine uses the MAF to gauge what load is on the engine so if its misreading, the load will be wrong too but fuelling the right amount for the misread air flow......not a very good explanation.
