Talking TEK3 me up

I can't keep how pleased I am to myself, so apologies for wey-heying on this BBS. Saw Pat today, arranged via xtreme scoobies group buy for a TEK3 map. I have to say I wasn't sure what to expect, as all I really knew about the mapping was that Pat was supposed to be v good.

And he was. Very knowledgeable on a wide range of technical goodies, including, obviously, scooby ECUs. After razzing up and down the A130 a few times, and keeping to the speed limit, obviously , Pat uploaded a new map, and off we went again. Couple more stops for a few more tweaks, a bit more caning it (although WOT in 4th from 3000-6500 rpm was not that straightforward ), and we're done.

And what a difference. Much, much better pickup, smoother through the 3-4K rev range which was always a bit lumpy, and a really obvious increase in umph all the way to the redline. And I now have safe 1.25 bar boost.

So, thanks Knowlsey, thanks Pat, and to the rest of you that are umming and aaring about whether to have a remap, go for it!

Right, rant over!

Hmmm, reminds me of the time I had my car remapped by the above top people.
Yes, going for a top speed run in 4th gear took a few times up and down the road,Pat must be insured to the hilt,as he seems to have a habit of saying"keep it there for a second",Oh the difference of looking at a laptop, instead of looking at the rear of a car rapidly approaching at "fill your pant's" speed, and then thinking "Is the dreaded Subaru brake fade really that bad?".
I'm still enjoying the buzz from the remap and exhaust change a year after!
Cheers
Dean
