Default Re-build or New engine?

After melting two pistons its got to be fixed . Here are my options-
1) Full rebuild with cosworth pistons 1000 pounds labour cost then the price of the parts.
2) Second hand WRX engine 2240 pounds fitted
3) Trade in for a Honda Prelude VTI
4) Trade in for VW Golf GT TDI (the wifes favourite)

Please help!

And if you drive it like you stole it tell the wife to remember its SUPER UNLEADED that goes in the tank.

Ouch!
There is an alternative, call David at www.apiengines.co.uk
You won't be ripped off!
I seem to be his salesman these days, but worth a call.
A Honda, A Golf?

Richard Hopkins was looking to off-load his US STi 2.5. Unused and still in the crate.

I would imagine he'd take a sensible offer of around £1300

Mark A

PS I'd also recommend David at API

Yeah, just had the pleasure of API Davids service and wholeheartedly recommend you contact him. He definitely will not rip you off - hes a straight talking, no-nonsense type of guy. He'll get you back on the road with minimum of fuss and hassle. Breath of fresh air IMO!

......no coffee for me David, I prefer Irn Bru

I had a Honda Prelude VTi before the Scoob. Lovely cars and you can rev the nuts off 'em without fear of melting anything. BUT it just doesn't compare, you'll have to get in the habit of moving over for every other BMW.

Option 5) Buy the wife a Golf and hide the Scooby keys.
