brake choice for my99 uk turbo
Hi guys,
I'm after a little help.
I am getting close to needing new disks and pads all round. I'm happy enough to do the job myself, but the problem is, is that there are so many options available, so, i need some help.
I'm only looking to do pads and disks as i already have the advantage of the my99 four pots. What I want is some decent pads and disks without breaking the bank and hopefuly improving on the current braking
I'm opent to suggestions (appart from full kits cos i really can't afford £1400 for a full AP racing kit )
Cheers
James

depends on what size wheels you have, if you have 17" then you can go to the 335mm disk still using the std caliper (requires some mods though - godspeed do a kit...) even 16" wheels can go to 310mm discs - however this may be pushing you budget to braking point (hahhaha!) ;-)
wouldnt recommend drilled discs personally - they have been known to crack from the holes, i would go grooved.... dont forget a good brake fluid and maybe hoses and the servo bracing bar (try scoobymania)

If your on a budget I bought discs from sapmotors.com for £90 which some on SNet say are good but aren't posh grooved ones etc...
I bought Apec pads from my local factor. Seem to do the job well but are quite dusty.
Not an upgrade from OE but good value and still stop OK and mines TEK'd to 270ish. Do jsut fine till I save for the godspeed kit anyway.
Discs - £90
Pads - £30
Fitting - hour and a cup of tea
