Question Dryer / Receiver Location

Bug Eye 2001 GX

I have been trying to locate the dryer / receiver for the air con. system. It should be a fitted in the pipe work between the compressor and where the pipes pass through the bulkhead. There is a small component with a sight glass and electrical senor attached but I am struggling to convince myself that this is it, as its only a 2cm squared, cube of metal. I believe this unit is a bit more hefty as it acts as a reservoir for the air con. fluid as well as containing filters.

Has anybody any idea where it is located?

Thanks
Jonathan

That sounds like it, it should be on the passenger strut inner wing

Question Dryer / Receiver

This 2cm cube of metal, that I mentioned above, is located up the front of the car near to the condensor radiator, attached to a short length of pipe coming from the condensor. Still not convinced that this is the dryer / receiver as all references to them on the web, show pictures of large units shaped like ignition coils (remember them!)

My compressor has packed in and I am starting to convinse myself that a dryer /receiver (acts as a filter as well) was not fitted! I have had the car from new so if one was not fitted and crud has passed through the system....this would explain teh failure.
