Engine turning over before it should????
Ok, it's not the RB5.
I've just put back together an MR2 Turbo, after a year of sitting around. The full inlet and exhaust system, including the turbo was off.
The other day, when going to turn it over for the first time (Plugs out)......
disarmed the imoblizer. put in the key. turned the ignition to 'on', not 'start'. and the engine started turning over so I took the key out, and it kept turning over  it stopped after about 10 secs.
I can hear the starter solenoid clicking in and out so I know thats not stuck in.
Anyone seen this before?
Just a quick question before i have to go hunting for the answer.
Cheers, Dave

yup, defo heard of the starter sticking on bud. our old wagon had gotten broken into one night and the ***** had tried to start it via the starter. they had got scared off, but in the mornin when i went on a call with it, the thing ended up near enough in flames as the starter had stuck on. can't remember how we fixed it, but if you want i can find out?

I'm pretty sure the starter is not stuck in, as when the battery never had much charge you could hear the solenoid clicking in and out.
Nothing has been touched on the steering column, so it should be ok.
