Question 03STi PPP PSi3 readings

Having recently installed the PSi3 unit I am puzzled somewhat by the ignition advance readings I am receiving. With the ignition on but not running, the reading is 56deg. This I assumed is simply a base figure when there is no information inputs to the ECU? When running at idle the reading will be 7.2deg. then flicks to something like 86.8deg.!! then maybe back to the original figure, there being no discernable change in engine speed or 'feel' When driving I have seen in excess of 90deg.! What's going on here? I know the ECU will constantly make adjustments in response to inputs, but these variations seem extreme?
I would love to compare what I am seeing with other users of the unit and/or comment from a mapper?
Cheers JohnD

Cheers Bob. What a pain in the butt! I'll e-mail PSI first to get a reaction.
In addition, I'm not getting the knock correction on the menu at all, I thought this was available via the Subaru ECU?

Yes it is, you can configure the display to display a number of readings, if you press and hold the enter button it is possible to scroll thro till you get to user definae display (not sure of the exact words) then you highlight the position you ewant to alter, press and hold enter on it and you get a choice of items to set in that position, some don't work tho as they are car specific, you have a Sti I think ? That should be able to pick up what I can. There is also an option to reset the display, try that as a thought just in case it had been "adjusted" b4 you got it.

If you buy the ECuTek version you get seven pages off info insted of four, its only available from EcuTek or their dealers not direct though.

You can always call me and I can talk you thro' that if you like.

Bob Yes, I've been through the menu of what's available and set the information on each of the five pages. I've re-visited the menu and cannot find KC or KN or indeed IN (injector duration)
I have contacted PSi and they accept the unit could be faulty, so I shall return it to where I got it (local) and let them deal with it!
Thanks for your reply JohnD
