Hi Guys,

Doing an oil change on my 1998 UK Turbo, just wondered whats a decent oil to use?...

Just rang up for an oil filter from Subaru, £4-95 - not bad!

Just remember to fill the oil filter up first before fitting

Mobil 1 (15/40) gets the thumbs up too (the thinner Mobil 1 is too thin for Scoobs)

Cinders, read this before doing anything.

Dave: Small, but important point. The "good" version of Mobil 1 is the 15w/50 "Motorsport" version, not 15w/40. As you say, the regular 0w/40 version is too thin for most turbocharged Imprezas under normal UK summer driving conditions, as are all oils of this and similar viscosity.

£4.95 for a genuine Subaru oil filter? That's got to be second-hand! Try a few pence short of 12 quid!

Nope.

Remember the big push recently ... top 200 lines now up to 56% reduced in price?

Oil filters were around £12, now under £5!

Shame exhaust gaskets were not in this deal, still over £20 for a downpipe to centre pipe donut seal!
