Question Boost guage, which one?

I was thinking of getting a OE Subaru guage as it looks reasonable value and quite neat on the column. But thought I'd first ask users of guages what there opinions were on ones they'd tried.

Is it worth getting one with peak boost reading etc.?

It's all down to personal preference really, and your main reason for wanting one. For instance, I got mine (Autometer) because I needed it to help me set up my manual boost controller. It will also be useful if my Knocklink suddenly starts to lose the plot, or performance feels "different" for some reason, as I can check to ensure the engine's still boosting to what it should be.

So far the engine related mods are full-de-cat and panel filter but I'm planning an ECU upgrade at some point in the future.
The boost guage would be primarily for ensuring that boost levels were in the right area after the re-map.

So a cheap and cheerful mechanical one would suffice. Mine's the one on the right, part number 4304, £44.50 I think...

The OE subaru one (lamco) only reads upto 1.3Bar - if you are going for heavy tuning, it will not read high enough!

The OE Subaru one is also sodding expensive for a mechanical gauge IIRC.

I thought that, but it was also the only one I'd seen that sat on the steering column.

Good point, but I'm sure you could pod up any gauge to fit in the same place. Might take some fannying around, but managable. Best bet's to get the 2 or 3 gauge A-pillar pod...
