Hi all,
Right then I've re fitted my boost gauge to my 93 STI and it's reading under 1 bar,should it not show 1.5+or could the gauge be nakt,or could I have a leak somewear??.The gauge is a Racetech it dose'nt look expensive any suggetions.The reason I re fitted it was that the pipe had melted so I just replaced the pipeing.Cheers

 

i dont think it should be reading 1.5 unless your you want to pop it under 1 is standard i think

14.7 is 1bar-it depends on what model scoob youve got-IIRC the early WRX max std boost is 0.8 bar,the later ones are 0.9 bar.The only way to get more boost is to get a remap or a bleed valve.

 

a 93 wrx should be 0.8 for definite if u have a U8 ecu......stick a scooby ecu in it and ure gonna be pushing 1.1-1.2 BAR

 

No no 14.5psi = 1 bar, 14.7psi = 1 atmosphere. Make sure you get it right

 

First time ive heard of an MY93 STi (they didnt make one for that year) they did however make one for MY94 but it isnt a red top engine as its only a modified WRX.
If you push 1.5bar on one of these i wouldnt expect it to last very long
You have to remember that these work on pressure so i doubt you have a leak anywhere (you would be getting more boost rather than less )
Has the car been modified in any way??
