12 sec 1/4 mile scooby
Hi all I need some some advice on upgrading my MY95.
My mods:
K&N panel filter, full scoobysport exhaust chip upgrade now boosting at 1.1 bar. Car ran 14sec 1/4 mile before mods now with mods 13.70s I want to drop it into the 12 second what are the mods I will need to get done to get there.
Thanks in advance

Basically a total rebuild, including gearbox and clutch... best to ask someone like andy F who had got into the 12's on a standard WRX engine but how long it will last....

Paula, I know one 12's WRX in nearby Trinidad might be into 11's now, of course there may be a few more but the one I know of has, at the very least:
Type RA gearbox
Turbonetics T4 turbo with external wastegate
APS front mount intercooler
3" catless exhaust
Link ECU
Nitrous
Plus every other misc accessory, BOV, catchcan and so on

iirc, andy was doing 11.8's with charge cooled TD05 but with lots of mechanical aids to allow standard ECU to cope with around 360bhp. he then ran 11.6's with fmic,20g and remap with around 440bhp , with different gearboxes. at this level though gearbox consumption was an addiction which lead to slower more sympathetic gearchanges.
my own UK has done 12.56 at 114mph with decat,TD05fe,fmic,remap to 340bhp with raised fuel pressure,headers/up-pipe....

..hell...even I managed a 12.72 @ 110 on the quarter, at the time running stock euro (same as english) gearing, VF23@1.4 bar midrange, and the ol' link ecu.
Getting off the line is what it's about - look at the 60-footer.

one to watch; 'Team Subaru' TOTB3 -> Lots of sub 12 cars methinks..
i think P20spd has done 12.16 with around 340bhp and 325 lb/ft lat year @ elvington..
I think the 22b.com team will be quite scary this year at TOTB3
(do you not agree J? )
I'm hoping to at last get well into the high 12's myself @ scooby shootout too..
Now have new 'race' spec clutch as opposed the the old knackered OE clutch -
I think overboost to 1.7bar did for that within an hour or two whilst mapping..
With the OE one I was getting serious slippage in 3rd 4th and 5th.
Previously did 13.4 at Pod on a RWYB with that piece of cr@p OE clutch (UK MY00 with a few 'gentle' mods)

As for how long it will last, well it now has a new owner and is still going strong Thats over 2 years now it has held the UK 1/4 mile title
(2 years 4 months to be exact )
I think the new owner may be about to 'perk it up' a little too......which is nice

i did 12.8 1/4 @ Sso recently.
I would totally agree with Conrad in that getting off the line quickly and getting a reallly good 60ft time is what really makes the difference....
my 60ft times were pants though
practise makes...
