Sti 7 intercooler into phase 1 classic?
Guys,
I have had a good search around to no success.
Has anyone tried to fit a sti 7/8 topmount into an early 1993-1996 wrx and could they give me some pointers etc, a link to a web page would be good too

Going to be doing this soon on my MY98. On mine I needed the clutch fluid reservoir off the STI7 as well, which I've got.
You also need the intercooler bracket for the drivers side.
You will also find when you fit it that when you try to fit the dump valve it will foul on the sensor on your manifold, later STI manifold are lower at the back than the front, I've got someone making me an adaptor plate to fit on the intercooler so I can attach a samco elbow or similar and fit a normal type dump valve.
As I fit it I will take some pics and post them up.

Im doing the same mod, the only issue re the clutch is on the classic there is only one pipe coming out of the alloy body, but on the MY03 offset clutch there is two. The front one acts as the fluid pressure to the slave cylinder but I think the one on the side is just the return as it has a bleed nipple above it and only expells fluid if you open the bleed screw. I intend just to blank it off as I can bleed the system from the slave cylinder or off the brass block on the bulk head.

I put an my99 i/c on my my92wrx and its a bitch for space, it does touch the bulk head and makes a rattle inside the car but the boost increased by 1 psi all on its own.
Pulls a lot harder now.

Where can I get on of these clutch fliud reservoirs from.
Any change of some pictures. I have just bought an sti7 intercoler for my uk99.
Just had a look at the location of the reservoir in the sti7. I think there should no problem making a similar bracket and just using some hose to extend the connection should do the job. Not too sure if the DV will fit.
Any thoughts

I think he meant the STI V intercooler.
Nick, nice to see its working well I found the knocking was against the pipes on the bulhead, a bit of rubber sandwiched between cured it

The sti 5 does fit , but you do need to shorten the inlet pipe , on the inlet manifold for the intercooler to fit i had to cut off about 8-10mm , and shorten the outlet on the intercooler , but it will squeeze in . It does take longer than you think tho to get it all to fit but well worth it .

I too, have just fitted an STI 5 Intercooler to my MY95 UK, as above I needed to cut a bit off the outlet on the Intercooler to get it to fit ALSO had to "modify" the bracket type bit below the intercooler with "gentle" peruassion (sp) and a ball pein hammer
Not an easy job but more grunt & lots of new noises - Not convinced all are good yet
