Converting MY93 WRX to MPH Speedo, what do I need?
Hello All
My MY93 WRX Import has been cheaply converted to MPH
The odometer reads in KPH still, but the dial outside reads up to 110MPH
I have purchased a 5/8 speedo cable convertor and a 180MPH Face from demontweeks..
I know the 5/8 convertor is correct but is it deffo a 180 MPH face I need?
Would I take it the origional face in KPH would of been 180 KPH? I.E 112.5 MPH as Japenese speed limiter is 110 MPH?
Cheers

hi mate you wont need to change the face because the normal clock reads upto 180kmph so just put the converter in and rub out the K then set the converter to those reading best and easiest way.like people say its a b@stard to change the dials

So I will have to fit a new 180mph face.
Anyone got any tips on fitting new face, how long it takes etc etc
Cheers

fiddly, ar$ey job m8. i wrecked one dash doin it, lucky i was able to get another from a breaker. its the fuel and temparature needles that are a big pain in the a$$. they are very very fragile but can be prised off using the 2 spoons and hairdryer method. couple of screws hold the dash mountings on and a ribbon cable connects the dash. not rocket science by any means but a time consuming job. my advice FWIW is unless you have done this before, get someone else to do the job. you will save yourself money and alot of frustration in the long run.

So what exactly needs to be removed to get to dials then?
From looking at the car, it looks like 4-5 screws hold dials facia/screen onto dashboard, I have removable strg wheel so that will help, Do you have to disconnect fog lamp switches etc and take the facia off?
Any in-depth ideas on what I will have to do will be a bonus.
So you used a hair dryer to warm up needles so they come of easily then??
Cheers all

four screws hold the fascia in, then you have to pull the thing forwards, get your hand in and pull the backs off all of the switches and there are a couple of multiblocks behind the rev counter and then the speedo cable
No need to take the steering wheel off
Then the fun starts (no idea on this one)
