oil pressure

Default oil pressure

Hi all i've just had an oil pressure gauge fitted to my 97 wrx import and was wondering what pressure i should be getting when running and when idle?

Idle around 2 - 3 bar, 5 bar+ when running.

Ah..great post...i was about to ask the same question.

Although, since i had an oil change, mine sits about 1 bar lower than it used to (at idle) before the change.

It does vary depending on what oil you use. If the car's running fine, then it's good to set whatever pressure you see as the norm for your car (assuming it's not miles out from anyone elses).

And same garage that done the oil change.
Oil is SHell Helix Ultra Racing 10w/60

My gauge goes up to 100psi when cold then drops to about 50-60 when normal driving.
When boosting constantly it jumps upto 100 again (time to let off a bit).
