Grounding Kits..... any good ?
Hi Folks,
Looking for a Valentines present for my one true love..... me, errr I mean my car.
Just been paying a visit to Vivid Racing site. (Unfortunately, not full of **** stars draped over Scoobies !)
http://vividracing.securesites.net/catalog/
They're flogging grounding kits $99, and say get 5 - 10 Hp more from better circuitry.
Anybody any ideas ?
Happy Valentines
Paul

Buy yourself some decent oxygen free cabling (10mm^2 stuff) and some crimp rings (gold plated if you must, but it doesn't really matter) and make your own for 1/10th of the price.
BTW 5 to 10 HP is optimistic to say the least. You might get better sound from the stereo and a bit smoother running. The results do depend on the age of the car to some extent - ie the older the car, the better the results.

I'd have to agree that DIY-ing it is cheaper, but depending on the car, you can indeed see improvements in that range. The problem for most people is that it doesn't add it at the top end often, and is therefore "not effective". In truth the earthing upgrade (if your car is suffering from poor signalling) will mostly effect the response side of things,
making the car (hopefully) smoother, with chrisper response etc.
It should at the very least improve the audio And yes, older cars seem to get more benefit.
All IMHO, best of luck with it whichever way you go.
