Will need to decat downpipe as well, and increase ya plug gap as much as possible, but still be sure to have strong blue spark..even then you may only get small flames, sometimes a "vent to atmosphere" dump valve helps..you have positioned your plug in the tailpipe?

You wont see smoke,it either ignites the unburnt fuel or it doesnt, there is no "in between"..it takes a lot of messing about to get the best results..but you HAVE to fit the downpipe.im pretty sure it wont flame with that in place..try opening your plug gap between 1.0mm-1.5mm..see what happens..

If you have a New AGe WRX, you have a cat in the up pipe; has this been taken out along with the downpipe & centre cat?
You may have only taken the last 2 out & its no small wonder you won't be getting flames.

You will struggle even with the full decat and that includes the up-pipe,i have seen the odd MY01 flame but that was on a track getting the nads flogged off it and then it was only a small amount.
My old MY01 with a full de-cat and VTA dump valve never flamed once, even when really hot.
The only time it popped on demand was when it was remapped (Ecutek 3)i could then get it to pop any time i wanted, if i would have had the VTA still on i would have got flames.
You should have saved your money.
