Does a GEMS ecu need separate boost control?

Can I take it that my electronic boost controller will be redundant if I get a GEMS ecu?

You can use either. The EBC will give you in cabin boost control.

GEMS can be mapped to provide maximum safe boost throughout the rev range. Why change something that would be being "looked after" automatically.
