help 5 cel codes
#1
my93 wrx import has been running badly for a while hunting on idle poor running on light revs.so i took it for a diagnostic in durham but it did not show anything wrong to be fair it seemed to run fine on the way up but as soon as i got home it started again i had tried the cel check before and it did not show anything but it has got much worse it is misfiring on full throttle as well now.so i done a cel check again now i have 5 fault codes
44-wastegate control solenoid
23-maf
31-throttle position sensor
21-engine coolant temp sensor
24-idle air control solenoid
surely all these have not gone will one sensor affect other ones.
where shall i start

just checked the plugs next to the battery looks fine but i have just noticed a pipe going from the boost solenoid to the air box just before the bend before the maf has been broken off tried to reconect it but it keeps falling off

The O2 sensor for a WRX import early model (pre 97) is in the headers and requires a long connector.
The original item is ~£240 + vat from graham goode!!Ouch!!
You will read on this site that you can buy a UK sensor ~ £120 with a short connector and cut the old wire and fit in a new connector, therefore much cheaper. You can also move the sensor and locate it in a decat downpipe if you have one with a blanking plug in place.
I know all this because I am currently waiting for my O2 sensor to arrive for my early MY96WRX. In fact, i managed to order the original item through a friendly UK subaru dealer who has access to the japanese parts codes and is getting it shipped from subaru japan in 3 weeks at £120+vat!
Thus i don't have to cut any cables or move the sensor, although I do have a decat downpipe.
Supposedly the exhaust temp is ~150C cooler in downpipe and the sensor may work better there- thus model year 1997 onwards has sensor located in the downpipe.
Hope this helps!
