it was bought from JW for an Impreza, so I would hope it's the Impreza one!

You should be getting blue or green on WOT, which is indicating a rich mixture. Orange is apparently spot on and red is lean. THIS IS ONLY APPLICABLE ON WOT

Hope this helps, Phill

Green on WOT is great mate. It will flick around randomly while cruising around town mate This AFM is used on WOT!!!

Make sure you find a true earth for the AFM around the ECU. There are seemingly earths around the ECU that aren't earths when the ignition is switched on. If I was you I'd run an independent earth from the battery to the ECU mounting barckets (as can be seen on Bob Rawles earth mod thread) and feed the AFM from there mate.

Thanks Phill

By RON - I get a full blue on wot, it dances all over the place while cruising, but from half throttle up I get blue!
Same as mine.. UK 96 Turbo and it is the Impreza one from Jamie too bought last Xmas..

I wouldn't be happy with Green on WOT myself but each to there own.

I am now tuning with a Link ECU and going for Blue light equivently on WOT..

WOT = wide open throttle (i.e. Foot flat to the floor )

Phill

PS I'm happy with Green as that the operating voltages of the AFM, and is indicating a rich mixture

Babber if you don't mind I have a RB5 (MY 99) but I was lead to believe that all Lambda sensors read the same voltage. Upto 1 volt. Otherwise Jamie would be selling several different models, which he doesn't!!

I think we got to the bottom of this on the other thread..

You Lambda is in the headers, mine in the downpipe therefore you will get a slightly different reading as it is a different sensor and in a different location.

You have to keep the fuel to air mixture in the exhaust the same so the extra power the WRX produces of a uk car would not effect the AFR as it would be mapped for the same AFR.

If you got a downpipe with a sensor in and connected to that I suspect you would see the blue light..

Just might be worth doing a check though.. remove the scoobyecu to check it is fueling the same on the standard ecu.. might be that your fuel pump cannot keep up etc...

hehe sorry BABBER.Right like JGM says i think weve got 2 the bottom of this...actualy just now after letting motor warm up on idle i booted it up the road and actualy got blue light breifly....then after 5-10mins of driving went down 2 green on WOT..i think this is ok.about .85-.87v i think thats ok ive unearthed an electrosystems lambda link i think ill wire that in as well ..will be interesting 2 see what that reads.this should qive a reading much lower in the volt range [at idle etc.]

BIG THANKS 2 U ALL 4 THE REPLYS IN THIS AND OTHER 2 THREADS RELATING.[AND NOT BEING SARCASTIC AT MY IGNORANCE]

SMASHY

P.S JGM im running standard z4 ecu with normal boost[scooby ecu in the new year says pavlo]wanted the afr and KL specificaly 4 this so i could monitor the afects of the raised boost.

Ive just fitted the electrosystems lambda limk and as suspected on its maximum rich reading its only RED on my dawes specific. This is quite alarming as any1 using the electro systems/and some others i think wouldnt know if their car was running week on WOT.Ithink ill keep the electrosystems wired in anyway so i can monitor whats happening in the lower voltage range I.e at slight 2 half throttle as it seems 2 leav off where the DAWES picks up.

The Lambda Link I think has a better earth on the wiring..

I think I remember someone saying this before..

so perhaps your Dawes was not wired with a good enough earth, I know mine wasn't.
