Question

Hi to all......and now let me begin. I have had this problem since i bought the car six months ago and it is also my first scoob,so i dont really know any different. but when i accelerate in any gear and the turbo is spinning i seem to get blips of power loss as im speeding up and the revs get above 3000 rpm. this car is a 98. and standard apart from a K&N panel filter.... can anyone help!

I had something similar in my 01 WRX.

after a lot of frustration I eventually found that a "T" peice under the bonnet had split. after this was replaced(about 50p's worth) everything was fine again

what do you mean by power lose??? do the revs drop right off or does it just stutter along like a novice driver with bad clutch control ? ?

It could be the coil packs, spark plugs, or a number of other problems.

Does it judder a lot (like a misfire)? or just when you change up or pull away (indicating the clutch).

I would probably guess at either an electrical problem, or maybe an air leak somewhere in the intake (or maybe even exhaust - which you would hear).
