sometimes if they've stood for a while they get a lot of dust down the vents which thn sits on the heater matrix . when you first use the heater this dust then burns off the matrix causing a funny smell if you use it for a bit it will burn off and the smell should go.

 

Some times when I start up my MY01 WRX in the morning theres a strong burny moldy smell, which seems to be coming from the vents, can any one please advise.
It don't happen all the time?

 

Did you had recently any oil change?

 

Many thanks for the relpys, But I use the scooby every day to work.
And there has been no oil change in 3000 miles, my MY01 has covered 12,800 miles and I did think it was clutch smell, but not realy shore! I,m having another service in the next two months so I will get it checked then.
