Whilst washing my car at the weekend, I realised that my front right headlight cover had sustained some stone damage - almost smashing the thing to pieces.

Certainly saved me a few quid.

Now all I have to do is find somewhere/someone who has a single carbon effect right side headlamp cover for sale!!!!!

If you haven't got them and do a lot of motorway driving, I can only recommend that you invest in a set!

I've thought about them a few times but not quite sure how they look. Any chance of a piccy?? My interest has been renewed since I recently read that a replacement headlamp was nearly £180 - surely not?

As you can see above (or can't see) the clear headlight covers are pretty inconspicuous.
The carbon effect ones basically have a darker edging to them, but on my silver car I think they look pretty good - can also get matching fog light covers sorry no picture yet).

Cheers

Had clear ones fitted at the 1000 mile service (~£25 for fogs, ~£30 for headlights). The next day I walked back to the car to find that one of the fog covers had taken a big hit and "starred". Annoying , but cheaper than a new foglight!

I was going to buy some new ones, but that was a year ago...

As an alternative, you can get pre-cut Armourfend for the headlamps and foglights (cost for the headlamps is about £30). Fit it properly and it's practically invisible.

Hmmm, covers look quite good / un-noticable.

The Armourfend though, I thought it was more designed to stop paint scratches/chips - would it be strong enough to stop the blow of a biggish stone cracking the glass?

I have armourfend and the stuff they fitted to the lights is a thick rubberised layer rather than thin film. No probs is 35k miles

As Jules says - the Armourfend that is used for the headlamps is much thicker than the stuff used on the bodywork (the headlamp version is damn near bullet proof )

Unhappy

Will they fit over PIAA driving lights?
Had a bad week offside indicator lens last Wednesday and windscreen today. If you travel between Worcester and Droitwich on A38 beware of the first dual track, seems to be a lot of big stones for some reason.
