Fogger ! Fogger! Help Can't see!

I Have a UK MY97,
The defogger swithlights up on the right hand side of the cabin. I don't know it there is a light on the dash disply that is supposed to light up, because it does not.
The dealer changed the rely and that did not work they were so helpful that they said we don't know what it is and did not even offer a solution.
I have also checked the what do you call it on the rear screen for damage nothing.
Can anyone advise on this petty but important creature comfort especaily in winter.

Are you saying that you press the fog lights button and nothing appears on the dash? If so, then that's how they are designed, there isn't a dash light, just what's on the buttons so elegantly hidden by your hand and the steering wheel. How do you think they make these things so cheaply? 
If you are saying that you press the foglight button and the foglights don't come on, then it's probably a fuse or dodgy wiring.
