I have just bought my first subaru (96,UK 4door) . When i put some petrol in it , the pump kept cutting off ,so it took me ages to fill up.I tried a different petrol station incase it was a faulty pump, but that was the same .Is there a fault on my car ,or are they a bit tempromental.

You have the nozzle to far in. Try pulling it out a bit until it sits in a grove on the bottom of the nozzle. Some owners also rotate the nozzel 45%. But I always withdraw a little and give it full flow

Try "KY JELLY" Not sure if withdrawing it a bit will help. And as for rotating it 45 degrees, that is going to hurt

That's right.. You've gotta open the flap nice & wide then twist & turn the cap until it comes loose then you put in your nozzle...
Without doing that first you'll get your shoes wet..
