Not an Impreza, but my 92 UK Legacy estate weighed about 1540 kgs, with me on board, and i think 1/4 tank fuel. It was quite a while ago I weighed it. Full trim, probably some junk in the car too.

There are a few mods, but none that would greatly affect the weight.

my00 wagon; 1440kg - full tank of gas and driver.

Weight saving: headers, exhaust, inlet system removed, Porsche GT3 calipers

Weight adding: Porsche GT3 brake disks, Eta Beta 17" wheels, larger front speakers.

How accurate is the average weighbridge though? +/- 10%?

MY95 WRX Type RA

SAVING: No skirts, no spoilers, no rear seats, no air con, no electric windows, no central locking, no electric windows, no stereo, lighter 16in wheels, alloy bonnet, apparently lighter pannels/glass

ADDED: 6 Point bolt in roll cage, godspeed 4 pots, alloy firewall

Car was weighed when imported in the above spec = 1180kg tank of fuel, doubt the driver was in it

Confused as to why AlanG's MY99 UK is 70kg heavier than Denmark's MY99 GT (same model) with a full tank of fuel and no driver. Surely the spare wheel, jack and tools don't weigh 70kg

well, where do i start
weighed mine a month ago at roger clarks using their rally scales (very accurate)...........

car is very modified and full of everything

with 3 quarters of a tank of petrol and me in it, it was 1650 kg (i'm 100 kg by the way)

since then i've had 3 tvs fitted, extra sunvisors made from wood and dvd kit, possibly a little more weight

404 bhp though to make up for it and with all this weight, still finished 3rd at shootout with 12.1 seconds work that out me and clarks didn't expect this so we're all dead happy, i've told them it must of been the driver

i am after an all rounder by the way, not the fastest or i wouldn't have all my toys. Depends what ur after, doesn't it..... oh, still handles great with all the weight

AlanG's also might have aircon, and the other one might not

Just seen this.

I do have a water tank for the water injection but it was empty at the time of weigh in. I estimate the empty weight of the tank to be less than 5kg, if that.

My *ICE* consists of a TV headunit (same weight as a std headunit) a Sat Nav screen in the top binnacle and the two control boxes for both in the boot. No subs or amps or anything like that. Also in the boot is a PS1.
Not a lot of weight IMO.
Changes from std spec to my car are front mount intercooler and erm.....can't think of anything else which is significant. Turbo's injectors, fuel pumps etc have been changed but can't see how that changes things.
My spare wheel is still in the boot floor...

Alan

Addendum..there's four strut braces on the car as well...and as *Sonic* says, air con.

93 wagon wrx SA (lightweight model- rare????? answers on a postacard)

weighed on weigh bridge of haulier friend. is accurate as caliberated by him to 20kgs

with 3/4 tank of fuel, spare, tools, usual in car crap like work bag, tapes, cds etc.

has no skirts, no low-level hatch spoiler, no foglamps (blanks as sti instead), aluminum bonnet, no abs (although i suspect this is common to all cars of this era) - has air con though!

1280kgs (so lower limit is 1271 and upper 1289.)

First weighed STi 6 Wagon Feb 02 =1390 kg with 37 litres fuel and in normal road condition so absolute tare was estmated 1363 kg.
Today with ten litres fuel, jack, smallcompressor and tyre aerosol repair kit =1280 kg.
No spare wheel mats and other non essentials removed.
No driver (96kg) Car has air con. FMIC and AP 6 pots.Various other bits added. Instruments, brake bracket, front lsd plus rear lsd as Scooby Sport omitted this plus uprated centre viscuous lsd. 22mm Whiteline rear ARB and H.D. mountings. Cusco catch tank(waste of space and weight)

07-10-02 estimated weight at 1309kg with 47 litres fuel. Est. fuel at .727kg/l
Actual weight, no driver = 1302kg.(in brackets with driver)

FRONT
372 (385) 381 (417)

282 (292) 267 (300)
REAR

Savings included: 17" Superlegerras in plce of O/E 16". GFB pulley kit from Scoobymania .635kg (under driven) O/E=3.025kg. Alloy wishbones=17.8lbs O/E=20lbs. Not worth the hassle and expense. Tubular headers, saving without heat shield = 3.9kg. Harmonic weights= 1.8kg. Two toe eyes in place of four. None if you are brave. Motor bike battery saving=6.3kg. Spare =12kg.
Any bits that are no use are removed when found.

"Driver to loose 10 kg"

It looks like Harvey's going to be spending the Winter in the gym, either that or has spent so much on his Scooby he can't afford to feed himself anymore

I haven't weighed my Scooby yet, but 2 layers of sound deadening throughout including the roof, the 2 subs in an 18mm mdf sub box that I couldn't lift by myself, 2 large amps mounted in mdf boot builds, full leather, AC, FMIC aren't exactly going to help. But I do only weigh 69 kg

Colin.

Harvey

What was the weight saving on the 17" Superlegerras ? The 16" MY00 wheels are pretty light as OE alloys go.

Did not log it at the time as it was in the very early days of ownership but from memory I think it was either 4lbs or 4kg despite the diameter increase. Chose Super Legs as that was the lightest strong wheel I could find at the time.

I've found tyres to make a huge difference too.....but still take the ones that offer better grip.

EtaBeta 17"'ers are not on that list...they'd be the heaviest

'95 WRX Wagon with52 litre fuel today = 1330 kg so without fuel=1290kg.
As this included mats, carpets, spare wheel, jack and all the other accumulated bits and pieces I guess absolute tare is 1260-1270 and certainly below the STi 6 Wagon @1280kg.

I will try and get mine weighed before the next Elvington, plenty of weighbridges near me.

I thought the earlier wrx's and uk cars had alloy bonnets where as the 98 onwards had steel bonnets. I know mine is a damn sight heavier to lift than david wallis' original bonnet.
