Question

I was talking to a good mate of mine at JAPS and inevitably the conversation turned to tuning..

it was suggested rather than going for a costly FMIC, maybe a legacy chargecooler unit would more than suffice...
not that I'm trying to disprove him, merely gather evidence to bolster/reject the idea.. im intriuged..

Im a numptie when it comes to engines compared to a lot of you, but im learning slowly..
so what do ya think??
is it a feasible plan? would it really be worth the aggro?
Or am I likely to do some lasting damage?
My friend says that the Aussies are forever tinkering with their legacy's and treat the impreza as a "toy"
anyone got anything useful to put forward to this idea??

The Subaru intercoolers are very efficient, with small amounts of lag because the short distances traveled by the air, from the air filter to the turbo to the intercooler to the throttle body. They both have little advantanges and disadvantages so it depends entirely what you are trying to achieve
