Mine reads at 9.5 as well. I assume that this is 'acceptable' but do not have a knocklink fitted to confirm.
It seems to hit this number quite frequently, under 'spirited' acceleration, and then adjusts back down to 0 after cruising at the target speed.
For reference I am running a standard engine - at the moment - and 98RON fuel. Weather conditions are a bit different to the UK though!
Edited to add - MY02 WRX

It is Knock Correction, but I don't know anything about the values shown...
Check the website for the User Manual, under the "Tech Download" drop-down menu. www.psi3.co.uk

I too got scared silly when I saw "lots" of Knock Correction, but when I got home I downloaded a DeltaDash log for a standard MY01 from Ecutek's site to use as a comparison.
From memory, an unmodified car corrects up to about 12 degrees at various points of the map.

Thanks guys.
The car is an MY01 (I should have mentioned that) and it is running the PPP ECU so I guess the engine is still safe! <phew>

I'm running about the same figure as you Mattel. About 9 under hard acceleration and zero under normal driving conditions. So negative figures are bad then ?

My MY01 is also running 9.5 % with a TEK 3 map.
IIRC Bob Rawle explained that the ECU is advancing the ignition to make it more efficient. If it was - 9.5 % then it would be detting all over the place.
Nathan..

I have been toying with getting one of these but one of my questions was "Great all that data, but I haven't a clue what any of it means really, do the instruction cover what readings are good or bad?" Thjis thread seems a case in point, I have know idea what the Knock should say, nor do I know what would be a high water temp. Is there a list of good/bad values somewhere?

I too am thinking of getting one.
Mainly for the boost meter. Is this any good or do you still really need a guage?
How easy is it to connect oil temp and pressure to them?
Regards

Piers, no list at present as there are to many variations, due to different mods fitted to vehicles.
We will be adding a list soon based on our own cars as a guideline.
mason, whilst viewing using a single data item page e.g. boost the data is updated approximately 25 times a second, oil pressure and temperature sensor inputs will be available by the end of april. Kits will include software upgrade, sensors, all wiring and full fitting instructions.

Mason,
The only issue with the boost measurement [IMO] is that the feed is from the ECU. This means that any piggyback modification of the boost pressure the standard ECU 'sees' will be reflected by the SECS unit. This means that your SUPERLINKTEKAPEX'I piggyback ECU, although running higher boost than standard will 'fool' the stock ECU into 'seeing' 0.8 bar (or whatever), and this value is what the SECS will report.
Obviously a hardwired boost guage, running from the actual boost pressure will (strangely...) report the actual boost pressure.
The SECS unit, will however, replace the other 15 guages you would have to fit to report all the information!
I have one fitted in my car, and the only thing I would like to change is the colour of the display!
PSI3 Simons - I would like as future features:
Input from an add-on knock sensor (replace the v.ugly knocklink)
Instructions on how to utilise the rev-limit light output!
Oil temp and external sensor (I know this is on the list already)
