Just had boost guage fitted to MY03 STI8. This was done by the dealer. It is the standard Subaru single boost guage. My question is...where should the needle lie at idle. With the ignition switched off it sits at 0 which is 9 o'clock on the guage and at idle it is sitting 6-7 o'clock. Is this right?

Yeah sounds about right, mine reads around - 0.6 bar at idle when warmed up.
Mines not an STi 8 but still displaces 2 litres, and i guess the rpm is about the same at idle as yours, so i don't think there will be much difference .

Manifold presure in an N/A is negative (compared to atmosphere).

When idling, turbo has no (positive) effect. So you'll see the needle go the "wrong" way.
