I'm fed up with the intrusive droning that my MY98 makes most of the time - it's definitely road surface related because it goes away on some surfaces (usually repair patches) but is a real pain on the motorway. Suspension is standard except for Eibach's and it has 17" wheels with new F1's. I'm thinking about fitting one of the Noise Killer kits as advertised in True Grip but would like to know if they make as much difference as claimed. Any comments, please?

I have also the F1 GSD3, they make more noise than expected but thet are also great tyres.
Maybe you can use a helmet for that rally thrill inside ???
Or spray the inside of your weelarches with noise-killing stuff (don't know how it is called in England but a car-repairer know what I mean..)

If you mean on of these (can't remember the ad in True Grip!) then it works pretty well. About the most complete kit you can imagine!
Got one a year ago - can't complaing for the cash. Made quite a difference, although the scoob just makes a racket anyway road noise & exhaust - get rid of one & the other comes along...

There has been much discussion of sound proofing materials in ICE if you do a search or ask the question in ICE.

The GSD3 is significantly quieter than the GSD2!!!!!!

I fitted the soundkiller kit to my 00MY 5Dr. Definate improvement, but it is still loud........

I fitted the D3s in place of Toyos because they won a mention for being quiet in the Evo tyre test but I can't say that they're any quieter although I'm very pleased with their performance. I didn't realise that the Noise Killer kit was available in the shop - thanks for pointing that out Nom. I'm off to have a look in the ICE section now Cheers.

Raymond.
